Kahauanu Lake was born in Wailuku, Maui, on January 1, 1932, and we lost him on March 6, 2011, at the age of 79.
The singer, musician, arranger, composer, ukulele teacher, and mentor formed the “Kahauanu Lake Trio” in 1955, and headlined at the Kaimana Beach Hotel, the Queen Kapiolani Hotel, the Halekulani Hotel, and the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.
In later years, Kahauanu continued his legacy with the birth of the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame & Museum.
For this show, we’ll focus on music featuring the unforgettable music of Kahauanu Lake.
