Al Harrington - 2-08-2020 - Live in studio

Al Harrington joined us in the studio on February 7, 2020.
We’ll remember that Al Harrington was born on December 12, 1935, near Pago Pago, Western Samoa.
At 4 years of age, he joined his mother in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Eventually, his mother remarried an Irishman, and young Tulafono Ta’a was renamed Al Harrington.
He worked hard on his English skills and his athletic prowess, eventually gaining enrollment at Punahou School.
As a senior, Al led his Buff n’ Blue team to the ILH championship, the schools first in 27 years.
He then attended Stanford, and after graduation returned to teach history at Punahou.
On the side, in the early 1970s, Al gained international recognition for his role as Ben Kokua in the original Hawaii 5-0 TV series.
Through hard work, Al would go on to own and manage his own firm, South Pacific Man, with a live show in Waikiki, and his own record label.
In later years, Al was a sought-after motivational speaker.
Al possesses a unique combination of talent, energy, and the desire for self-improvement through the service to others.
Al’s wife, Rosa, is his life companion.
Today, we’ll share this memorable music, in an interview from February 7, 2020.
