The Hawaiian steel guitar, with its smooth, shivering sound, made its way to the US Mainland, where in the early 1900s, it showed up in blues and hillbilly music.
But the most important result of this trend was that country acts began adding steel guitarists to their rosters.
The 1950s developed a whole new type of music called Rock n’ Roll, created from a mix of rhythm and blues, and a little bit of country.
The 1950s country music had a mix of blues and rock n’ roll in it.
And in the 1950s, many country artists recorded Hawaiian tribute songs.
