Three students at Kamehameha Schools were first noticed when they won the Brown Bags to Stardom competition in 1984.
Nalani Jenkins (Choy), Angela Fernandez (Morales), and Lehua Kalima (Heine) recorded their hit “Local Boys” as a 45-rpm.
An album followed.
Over the next 35 years, the trio has recorded numerous albums, performed all over the world, and won countless Hoku Awards.
But it all started 35 years ago.
We’ll share those recordings from 1984 with you.
