Raymond Leimona Kinney was born on September 26, 1901, in Kaumana, Big Island, Hawaii.
Ray Kinney passed away at the age of 71, on February 1, 1972.
Ray began his professional singing career at the age of 15, in 1915.
Ray played in numeorus nightclubs in his career, both here in the islands and on the mainland US.
He recorded dozens of records, the majority for Decca.
On April 26, 2013, we featured some of Ray Kinney’s recordings.
In this program, we’ll Hana Hou, and play another hour of his Decca releases, all recorded in 1935 and 1936.
