Solomon Ho’opi’i Ka’ai’ai was born in Honolulu on December 19, 1902.
At the age of 17, Sol sailed to the US mainland with his steel guitar to seek his fortune.
In 1925, Sol made his very first recordings for small Hollywood based labels, Hollywood Records and Sunset Records.
Sol dabbled in jazzy renditions of new popular hit parade songs published around the year of 1925.
Almost 94 years later, nearly a century, we’ll share this memorable music.
