Loyal Pi’ilani Garner graced our world from September 28, 1946, until her untimely death at the age of 55, on November 15, 2001.
Loyal got her professional start in 1966 performing in Waikiki 6 nights a week, while attending classes at the University of Hawaii at Manoa during the day.
Her career took off during her gig at the Canoe House of the Ilikai Hotel in 1975.
She received her nickname, “Lady of Love” as the host of the local segment of the Jerry Lewis telethon.
She was known for her Hawaiian ballads, as well as jazz and country renditions.
We'll celebrate her 2nd recording, made in 1977, on Hula Records.
In this program, 40+ years later, we’ll share this memorable music.
