In 1961, Hula Records recorded an album, that was released in 1962, called “Gabby Pahinui & the Sons of Hawaii”, featuring Gabby Pahinui.
Gabby Pahinui had become one of Hawaii’s best loved Hawaiian musicians.
John Maunawili, alias for Eddie Kamae, was an upcoming ukulele virtuoso.
Joseph Kalei Marshall, was the arranger & noted bass player of the group.
And David “Feet” Rogers, played an extraordinary Hawaiian steel guitar.
Today, we’ll share some of our favorite recordings from “Gabby Pahinui & the Sons of Hawaii” from 1961.
