Bina Mossman was born on January 7, 1893, and we lost her at the age of 97, on May 20, 1990.
Bina founded the first all-female Glee Club in Hawaii in 1914, when she was just 21 years old.
The Bina Mossman Glee Club flourished for 3 decades.
My father, Harry B. Soria, Sr., was the announcer for the Bina Mossman Glee Club radio show on KGU Radio in the late 1930s and early 1940s.
This year’s Kamehameha Schools Song Contest was in tribute to Bina Mossman.
So we’ll dive into our 78rpm records archives to hear some of her classic recordings.
Today, almost 90 years later, we’ll share this classic music.
