Marcus Schutte, Jr. experienced considerable success in 1974 with his “Paniolo Country” recordings with Gabe Kila & the Nanakuli Sons.
In 1977, he followed that up with an album in tribute to his father, an engineer on Hawaii’s railroads, as well as honoring historic railroads on various Hawaiian islands.
The songs celebrate Hawaii’s colorful railroad history.
In light of the present day ‘rail’ controversy, these musical stories remind us of what once was.
Today, nearly 40 years later, we’ll share memorable selections from this groundbreaking release !
