I began working with Michael and Maryanne Cord in 1991.
Our dream was to take recordings from Territorial Airwaves archives, restore them using newly developed state of the art computer technology, and release them as compact discs, for all Hawaiian music enthusiasts to enjoy and learn from.
We felt that the music must once again be heard, and that the Hawaiian music community would appreciate it.
And we were right!
Our next release focused on stereo recordings released in 1961 through the 1960s by Sounds of Hawaii and Makaha Records.
Today, we’ll hear memorable selections from our CD release in 2001, courtesy of the Territorial Airwaves archives.
