I began working with Michael and Maryanne Cord in 1991.
Our dream was to take recordings from Territorial Airwaves archives, restore them using newly developed state of the art computer technology, and release them as compact discs, for all Hawaiian music enthusiasts to enjoy and learn.
We felt that the music must once again be heard, and that the Hawaiian music community would appreciate it.
And we were right!
Michael Cord requested that we next release a CD of local versions of hapa haole music, arranged by Johnny Almeida from 49th State 78rpm records.
Today, we’ll hear memorable selections from our CD release in 2001, courtesy of the Territorial Airwaves archives.
