The Hawaii Calls radio show was broadcast to all parts of the globe between 1935 and 1975.
In 1964, the Don Ho & the Aliis era began.
The Waikiki entertainment scene went through change, with more young acts with the 60s sound performing in the showrooms and lounges.
Hawaii Calls tried to respond to these changes by releasing an album in 1971, showcasing some of the bright young stars of Waikiki entertainment.
Today, we’ll hear that memorable recording, one of the final releases by Webley Edwards, courtesy of the Territorial Airwaves archives.
