Sterling Edwin Kilohana Mossman, Waikiki’s Crown Prince of Comedy, lived from February 3, 1920 to February 21, 1986.
A detective with the Honolulu Police Department by day, and the central character of the famed “Barefoot Bar” at the Queen’s Surf on Waikiki Beach by night, Sterling Mossman is lovingly remembered as, “The Hula Cop”.
Sterling Mossman combined impressive singing talent with hilarious comedy and novelty songs, and surrounded himself with a sterling group of talented Waikiki entertainers.
He sang, danced the hula, and told uproarious jokes.
Sterling Mossman held court at the Barefoot Bar from 1952 to 1969.
