John Thomas Pi’ilani Watkins was born on December 24, 1928 in Damon Tract, Kaloaloa, O’ahu, and we lost him at the age of 54 on February 25, 1983.
John Pi’ilani Watkins is remembered as a chanter, dancer, teacher, composer, and recording artist.
Cord International released a compact disc, “Songs to Remember Hana Maui”, which celebrated the many compositions and recordings from Watkins’ time in Hana, Maui.
