We'll celebrate the incredible life of Randy Oness:
At age 3, he was playing ukulele & singing to neighbors in Kalihi.
At age 6, he shook the hand of Queen Lili’uokalani.
While at Kamehameha Schools, he was mentored in music by Henri Berger.
After graduation, he worked for Johnny Noble at the Moana Hotel.
Four years later, he joined the Harry Owens Orchestra at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.
After WWII, Randy formed his own band, Randy Oness’ Select Hawaiian Serenaders.
We’ll focus on those recordings today.
Today, we’ll listen to some of our favorite selections from the recorded legacy of Randy Oness.
