Puamana

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful Farden family home in Lahaina named “Puamana”.
Irmgard Kealiiwahinealohanohokahao Puamana Farden was born on October 7, 1911, and raised within music-filled gatherings of family and friends.
In 1935, Irmgard composed “Puamana” at their home.
After performing and composing for years, she formed a group named, “Puamana” in 1974 with 2 of her daughters and a niece, recording 2 memorable albums in the 1980s.
“Puamana" is one of the 2015 Inductees into the Lifetime Achievement Awards of the Na Hoku Hano Awards.
Today, we’ll celebrate the early recorded legacy of Puamana from the Territorial Airwaves archives.
