Pua Almeida & the Sunset Serenaders

The majestic Moana Hotel rose in 1901 and was by far the largest structure in Waikiki at that time.
An Indian banyan tree was planted in the courtyard of the Moana Hotel in 1904.
Eventually, the tree stood 75 feet high, with a canopy spreading 150 feet across and a trunk circufrance of 40 feet.
For 14 years, Pua Almeida performed nightly at the Moana Hotel Banyan Court with his Sunset Serenaders.
Today, we’ll premiere a brand new Cord International compact disc of Pua Almeida & his group performing there live on July 23, 1966.
We’ll share some choice selections of a new collection from the recorded legacy of Pua Almeida & the Sunset Serenaders !
